03. "Of Meetings and Goodbyes" (RP)

DM:

Suddenly, before entering the shelter of the cavern, the old man turns and looks directly at Kai, a sly grin coming across his ancient, weathered face. He remains silent as he stares at the young woman, then he eventually turns around and climbs down into the now-exposed caverns.

The elven woman drops lithely down into the cavern after the old man.

She lets out an exclamation of pleasure, her eyes wide with amazement at the warmth that fills the cave. She spins in a circle, casting off the tattered cloak and dropping lightly to the ground, where she lays with her arms and legs spread out like a star, her eyes closed.

The nimbus of silver moonlight that had surrounded her begins to change, until finally it is a pale yellow glow, like the sun in summer. The new light casts a golden sheen over her white skin, and adds golden highlights to her long, silver-blue hair.

Despite the shocking display of the glowing elf, Liar didn't notice. Partly because he did not find her attractive, far too skinny, but mostly because he was unnerved. Too many mysteries in far too short of time. He decided to test the arcane flow once more.

The minotaur is every curious about the growing situation.. he decides to investigate the cave for anything else out of the ordinary.

Firstly, I wanted to mention that it is pitch black in the cavern, the only light coming from the elven woman. It is dim light, and it glows in a close burst 1 around her, so not a lot of illumination.

Secondly, Dahkore, your results are being sent to you right now!

"Does anyone happen to have a torch or some sort of illumination besides our under-dressed friend here? I might have some sunrods in my satchel if someone wants to grab them. I'm afraid in this dark it will be hard for me to locate it myself."

Liar pulled a sunrod out of his pack and quickly lit it. His arcane sense didn't tell him anything he didn't already know or had already surmised. "Can someone get the gel covered up? Ye can practically see her ribs." He placed the rod on the ground in the middle of the cavern and turned to the old man. "I'd like some questions answered now, if'n ye dinnae mind."

DM:

Ask away, thought I don't know what good my answers will do you, being just a poor old wanderer..."

He reaches into his apparently-empty bag and pulls out a small black metal cage containing a half dozen or so yellow canaries.

"How are you, my babies? Not hurt at all, I'd hope!" He chuckles to himself, sitting down on the ground and setting the cage next to him.

"Right. Ye can answer me this. Who are ye? How'd ye survive the lightnin' and where'd ye come from?" He points to the elf. "She says ye rode the lightnin' down. Considerin' that I've heard o' far stranger things in this world it isnae a huge leap o' the imagination to figure she's tellin' the truth o' it." He begins to unpack his bag as he talks. Pulling out a small pouch and a full quiver of bolts.

"I too, would like to know who you are and how you managed to come here. You have the air of Bahamut about you. As a Paladin of His Church, I am quite intrigued."

DM:

Kai, check your PMs for your check results.

The old man tilts his head, as if deep in thought. "Hmmmm, I do remember the lighting, I think, though I don't recall anything before that. There's something there, I think... But, nope, I don't remember. Curse this old mind of mine!"

Suddenly, a low growl fills the cave.

"...Do you have anything to eat?"

"Eh? Oh, aye. Not a bad idea. Could use some food meself after that climb." He pulls out two trail rations and throws one to the old man. "Not much but ye cannae complain."

The elven woman's head perks up as she hears the trail rations being eaten.

"Vasa?"

She moves to her hands and knees, crawling slowly toward the old man and Sigil, her eyes locked on the food.

"Amin?"

"Here ya go, lass. No need to worry." He gives the elf another of his rations. "Just put somethin' on, eh?"

DM:

As the old man swallows a bite, he looks toward Dahkore.

"Bahamut, you say?" His eyes cloud over for a moment and his head tilts to the side. "Ba...ha...mut? Ah! I remember now! Big fella, platinum scales? Ah, yes, there's one you don't easily forget! That tumble down must have really shook my poor old brain up..."

"Yes, that is the Bahamut I refer to. Do you somehow know him, or did he send you here?"
