02. "The Ascent" (E-SC)

DM:

The storm is growing in intensity, and the buffeting winds coupled with the downpour of sleet and rain conspire to prevent Dahkore from simply flying up the mountain. For this challenge, though, the party can elect a lead climber, one who will take the brunt of the physical stress of the climb. This leader will be the only one to actively make Athletic checks to climb, but the other party members may (on their turn) roll an assist Athletics check, granting a +2 bonus to the leader’s next Athletics check. Also, at least two members of the party must make Endurance checks each turn to fight off the effects of the storm, as well as the exhaustion of climbing up the mountain.

Primary Skills: Endurance, Athletics, Acrobatics, Perception

Keep in mind, you may use other skills, not listed here, so long as you can justify that the check will aid the party in some way.

Now, everyone will roll initiative, and we will begin the skill challenge.

Okay, the Initiative order has been posted in the opening post, and I'll try to make sure I repost it as close to the tops of new pages as they come.

I'm going to give you guys all a little while to talk amongst yourselves to come up with a plan of sorts, and then I'll tell you when the challenge is officially starting. If you all come to a conclusion before that, just post that you're ready to begin.

Rubicon nods in agreement. "Yes, I'm not the most agile creature on two legs, and he looks very strong. I imagine with his strength, he could simply carry us all up the mountain!" This, of course, was an exaggeration.

He takes the rope and fashions a harness out of it to support some of the weight the others will have to make their climb easer. He begins to examine the rock face, and points up to where he plans on climbing. He turns to Sigil, and looks at him rather calmly and says

Hold on tight.

but the rest of the sentence is in elven.
Follow in my footsteps, and no loud noises.

*insite* You all suspect that with his near flawless pronunciation of such a simple sentence, he may have forgotten the common language, and maybe remembering bits and pieces.
