03. "Of Meetings and Goodbyes" (RP)

i lied down along the wall, a few feet from the entrance, but not so close as to eavesdrop on purpose.

DM:

Rubicon grumbles as he fails to hear anything of importance, but decides it's not his business anyway and finally starts to doze off.

Putting the last of the ritual components away, Liar looked up to see most of his companions asleep. The elf still seemed to be awake but the minotaur and Rubicon had both gone to sleep. Dahkore and Kai were missing, however. He went to look outside of the cave and saw them in conversation. Not wanting to intrude he went back to his spot and unrolled his bedroll. "Rune, thanks fer yer help. Back ye go." A flare of light and the familiar was gone, and Liar went to sleep.

OOC: Was gonna wait for the girls to finish their conversation and hopefully post something. But they seem to be writing a novel between them...

For whoever stays on watch (Kai, I presume) the night passes uneventfully. It seems like if there were every any goblins here to begin with, they were either destroyed or scared away by the blast of lightning. About half way through the night the storm is carried off by the wind to the south west, leaving this part of the mountain and moving on to another.

Dawn is grey and clear, with few clouds in the sky, and the great, glowing orb of the sun rising slowly over the eastern horizon...

"Alrigh' ladies.... err... and gent... well that isn't right either. Hmm... folks! Wake up. Let's get goin'!" Liar was ready to go and was just waiting on the others to get going.

The gryphon had fallen asleep a few hours after the moon reached its Apex. The cloak that Kai had covered him with had done its part to keep the rain off his fur, and the storm's passing had allowed his feathers to dry completely. The woman he had slept next to simply smiled at him as he opened his eyes against the morning rays. He turned his head to reach for the cloak, and threw it towards her, and she caught it midair.

He stood and stretched, his tongue lolling out comically as he did so. "Well, looks like we fared well through the night. Let us hope our good fortune continues into the day." With that, he turned to the fissure in the cave to see if everyone else was awake.

The ethereal-seeming elven woman is sitting several feet away from Sigil, apparently wide awak, staring at the wall of the cavern, her head tilted slightly to one side.

The aura of light that surrounds her is a cold silver, with twinkling, star-like lights glittering within.

Rubicon slowly stands up, using his quarterstaff to help himself up to his feet. He utters a fake yawn, his arms stretched out while Cubert slides up his back and onto his shoulder. "Isn't sleeping such a wonderful thing, my friends? It is just so amazing how sleeping for a few hours can make one feel rejuvenated!"

"Lass? What ye starin' at?" Liar walked over to the wall that the elf was looking at. "Just a wall, innit?" He peers closer. "Or is it?"

Rubicon notices the two staring at the wall, stepping up to merely observe. "... is something going to happen?"

The Minotaur awakes with a loud grunt, slowly stands up. He just ignores what is going on in the cave, and heads outside for some fresh air, and get some a bearing on where they are at. He's not too sure because of passing through the storm durning, but he may have passed through the area. He lets out a long sigh, and glances around the outside of the cave.

The Minotaur takes his blade from his fancy ordinated sheath, and grasps the hilt with the tip touching the ground, He closes his eyes and begins commune with his blade, trying to find direction. The elven runes begin to glow a light blue.

"Why it's jes a trail o' ants. And ye gave em yer crumbs!" He looks over at the elf and grins. "Aye, lass, yer adorable." He pats her shoulder. "But we need to get goin', alrigh'? Somethin's callin' me up the mountain and I wanna get there 'fore it gets bored!" With one last shake of his head at the ants, the artificer exits the cave and waits for everyone else. "Turned out nice, at least."

Rubicon observes the ants, moves his hand so one crawls onto it, then brings it closer to his face. "Fascinating." He then returns it to the wall, turning to the easily-amused elf, nodding his head towards the group before heading back to the entrance.

The Minotaur heads towards the main entrance to the cave. and patiently stands in front waiting for everybody to join them outside. He turns to Sigil to look into his eyes and says with a calm stern voice, " We are heading to the Southwest, Gather everybody and your possessions, it is time to go. I don't know what to do about the... elven woman, but bring her along, something tells me she's going to be with us for awhile." He then comes close to Sigil's ear, and whispers (see PM)
