"Erk. Uhh... Well I've got good news 'n' bad news." He looks over at Rubicon. "The good news is that not all of 'em wanna kill us! The bad news is that the forest is crawlin' wi' em!" He thinks for a moment. "Ah, hells. Ye stay here and watch me back. I'm gonna try 'n' draw 'em out." With that said, he begins walking into the forest.

the minotaur has bent down towards the trail to get a closer look, he looks back towards the group.

"I think I might be able to force their hand to send them away, or to pull them in. Chances are if there were any left from the ones that I had encountered earlier, they may be frightened away. But I'm going to have to yell really loudly." he says back towards everybody. "I would prefer not to fight, but if it's what they wish, than their blood will be given back to the land."

OOC ( i could possibly see this as a way to get a combat advantage round but i'm not sure if I should use Endurance(since this is a physical action) or Intimidate(because this is what i'm trying to achieve) for the check, i'll say DM discretion on this) I will not roll this check unless the group agrees to allow me to, because it will affect everybody.)

Dahkore turns abruptly to the beast, scowling down his beak. He speaks sharply, gritting his teeth against yelling himself.

"Are you completely mad? In the immediate vicinity alone there are several things out here, we don't need you bellowing to attract more! I highly doubt there would be much advantage to you calling everyone in this god forsaken forest to a buffet!"

He looks back at Sigil. "You! Human! Dwarf! Whatever you are or think you are! If anyone is going to walk into that forest by them self, it will be me. I don't need your blood on my hands by letting you walk out there to Bahamut knows what! I'm larger, have thicker armor and apparently am frightening, to barkeeps at least!"

The gryphon breathes deep and exhales slowly, regaining his composure.

"Now. I like keeping our backs to one another, and I agree sitting here waiting for the inevitable is pointless. I will go forward and lure out whatever it is up ahead, and bring it back this way for us to take down."

He looks at the strange group he has become a part of. "For whatever reason it is that we've been brought together, it is vital that we learn to work together. I can't think of a better time to test that then with a fight."


He turns toward the forest. Pausing for a moment. He mutters "Bahamut, forgive my temper, be my shield," before overtaking Sigil and walking toward the forest at an even pace.

"Oh thank the gods." Liar quickly turns around and walks back toward the group. "I was hopin' ye or the bull would think o' somethin' better then me riskin' me neck! Honestly what does it take to get any o' ye to take some initiative!" Liar stands back with his crossbow ready. "Well don't just stand there! Get goin'!"

Ithilwen moves forward until she is walking side by side with Dahkore. She places a hand on his side and shakes her head before the gryphon can voice an objection. In her eyes is a steely, determined look that Dahkore has never seen before, and those with any arcane power can sense magical energy welling up inside of her. She speaks rapidly in elven to Dahkore before gesturing that the two of them should move further into the forest.

"Nay, lass. Let 'em go. I didnae want to lob a fireball because not all of these creatures wanna harm us. Some o' 'em are innocent. I'd rather we lured out any that did want to 'arm us and make an example o' 'em."

"Well, standing around isn't accomplishing anything. Why don't we just move forward and try to keep our guard up? Besides, the lady up front seems to have something in mind."

Liar sighs. "Right, fine. Ye stubborn..." He mutters quietly to himself. "I will be staying here. I do better at range anyway. Anyone else wanna get stabbed by goblin spears?"

The minotaur takes his blade and points it to the forest.. "Onward, together we stand, Perhaps our numbers is why they haven't threatened us. Be ever vigilent, and we shall find our destiny." He shows a tooth filled smile, with a hint of bloodlust. You all can tell from the minotaurs voice, he feels very confident, and that it's not us that should be afraid, it's them. He takes his place next to Darkore, the elf woman, and Kai

(OOC there should be a roll to inspire people? lol)

Dahkore startles a little to see Tarbh next to him now as well.

"Well, I was planning on carrying out Ithilwen, and now Kai, if we got surrounded, flying out and leading them back to you all, but it appears that plan is now not going to work. Everyone stop, please. We either do this smart or we don't do it at all."

(assuming everyone pauses to at least listen to what I have to say...)

"Sigil believes that there are innocents in the forests, and I have to say that I got a sense of that as well, at least of confliction on attacking us. It will do us no good to shoot fireballs into the forest, then; I will not stand for it.

"I can see that you all will not let me go into the forest alone, though my ability to fly gives me an advantage to fleeing back this direction if necessary. That being said, we cannot leave Rubicon and Sigil by themselves; it is possible someone would come around behind us and attack them.

"Our best option is to do what Sigil proposed in the very beginning - us all walk into the forest together, united , with a plan.

"I will walk first as I am taller and can see a bit further, and I have the most bulk with which to shield the rest of you.

"Kai and Ithilwen will follow close behind me, followed by Rubicon and Sigil. I will be relying on the men's ranged abilities to help us out. Tarbh, I need you to bring up the rear in case we do get surrounded, we can help defend the others.

"Now, if everyone is finished making a circus out of this, we should proceed with caution."



Dahkore waits for any objections to his plan, and to ensure that his orders are followed if there are none.

"Well if I'm goin' to die, I might as well die in the company of people I only met yesterday. Come on, Ruby. And if thin's get bad, go ahead and use that summonin' trick ye said ye could do." He walks toward the group. Under his breath he adds. "I've a feelin' we're gonna need it."

OOC: Don't care if he wouldn't have heard Dahkore. I want to get this over with.

Rubicon moves up behind Dahkore as he suggested. "My, I haven't seen conflict like this in some time...."

The gryphon nods at the those who have acknowledge him, and he realizes that he's spoken the entire thing in Common, and that Ithilwen would not have understood. He repeats his plan to her in elven so that she can follow as well.

Nodding at Dahkore's words, Ithilwen begins to hum to herself as she walks along beside the gryphon, almost skipping. Also, her aura changes from the bright, golden glow of the sun to the cold silver light of the moon.

DM:

I would say that everyone reacted appropriately to Dahkore's Diplomacy check, so thank you all for doing that and saving me the trouble of having to tell you how to respond, lol. Also, Ololamin, I would think that a check to inspire people would be a straight Charisma check, or maybe Diplomacy if the situation warranted it.

Alright, if everyone's ready, then we'll move on to the next segment. Keep in mind, there may be a delay of a week or so as we wait for Jacob to get settled in.
