Unlike the other, more common, races of Elaria, these are the races that have no true homeland of their own. They live side by side with the other races, and are an integral part of the world of Elaria.
DRAGONBORN (METALLIC)Average Lifespan: 100 years
Metallic dragonborn are those dragonborn who are either descended from other metallics, or are chromatics that have turned their backs on the dark origin of their race. Since the metallics no longer serve Tiamat and are no longer accepted by their chromatic brethren, they are a people without a homeland. As such, they can be found roaming the human kingdoms of Elaria, working side by side with the other races in an attempt to redeem not only themselves, but their race as a whole. Though metallic dragonborn can be found scattered throughout the other kingdoms, the largest concentration of them is in Westenra, where they can prove their bravery and prowess in battle by aiding the humans and their allies in their ongoing wars against the goblins and the people of Indra.
Changes from "Player's Handbook":The dragonborn of Elaria have the following new Racial Trait:
Dragonborn's Coloration (Metallic): When creating your character, you must choose one of the following colors; doing so also determines the type of your breath weapon. Metallic Colors: Adamantine (Thunder), Copper (Acid), Gold (Fire), Iron (Lightning), and Silver (Cold).

GNOMES
Average Lifespan: 800 years
Gnomes are one of the oldest races of Elaria, being second only to the elves. Unlike most of the other non-elf races of the world, gnomes were not created by the spark of a dead god; rather, they are said to have originated from the same place as the elves, though those specific origins have long since been lost to the mists of time. Since their origins are so closely tied to those of the elves, gnomes are given special consideration by Elaria’s most ancient race, and are able to come and go in the elven lands as they please. Not all gnomes, though, are suited to life among the elves, and they can often be found throughout the various human kingdoms, living lives of their own.
Changes from "Player's Handbook 2":You may take a +2 racial bonus to Lore instead of Arcana or Stealth, if you so choose. You may only take the +2 bonus to Arcana if you have Mage Talent.

GOBLINS(Hobgoblins and Bugbears also fall under this category)Average Lifespan: 50 years (bugbears and hobgoblins: 80 years)
Other than the followers of Tiamat, goblins are the main enemies of humankind and their allies. The ranges of the Cadal Mountains are infested with goblins who are eternally trying to move south into the civilized lands of Westenra, which puts them constantly at odds with the people of that kingdom. Wars between the Westenrans and the mountain goblins are commonplace, and seemingly never ending. The goblins of the Cadal Mountains aren’t the only member of their race, though, for many goblins dwell beyond the mountains and across the sea, in the lands claimed by the fledgling “Hargorn Empire” of the orcs. They provide the orcs with shock troops, which are then sent into battle against the followers of Tiamat, who oppose the spread of the orcish empire.
Changes from "Monster Manual":None.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GOLIATHS
Average Lifespan: 80 years
Goliaths are reclusive, venturing into the lands of the other races only when necessary. They dwell in the foothills of the Mordain and Cadal mountains in small villages, dealing little with their neighbors. In the north, those goliaths who call the Mordain Mountains home are known to travel periodically into Vilnis to trade or make a name for themselves among the Vilnis Guides, or are sometimes at odds with the neighboring dwarves who dwell deep beneath the mountains. The southern goliaths in the Cadal Mountains aren’t so lucky, for they are the targets of goblin attacks and raids just as often as the humans of Westenra are. They hate goblins, and this animosity sometimes leads the more adventuresome goliaths to take service with the humans of Westenra, to aid them in ridding the mountains of vermin.
Changes from "Player's Handbook 2":None.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GRYPHONS
Average Lifespan: 200 years
Gryphons’ origins are unknown, but those few gryphons that volunteer information about their past claim that they come from somewhere across the sea. Not to be confused with their unintelligent cousins, “griffons”, the gryphons of Elaria are wise and prideful creatures that can be found in the forests of Vilnis and in the highest reaches of the Mordain and Cadal mountains. In times past, during the great wars against the Draconic Horde, gryphons were often used as mounts for elven mages and warriors, and though those days are long gone, the elves and the gryphons still maintain good relations.
Changes from "Custom Races and Racial Feats":None.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HALF-ELVES
Average Lifespan: 400 years
Though half-elves can still be found throughout the various kingdoms, they are not quite as prevalent as they once were, mainly because the elves have been slowly withdrawing behind their borders and severing ties with the other races of Elaria. Vilnis tends to be home to most half-elves, though many venture south to Westenra for the chance to make a name for themselves in battle. Like the humans of Vilnis, half-elves are allowed to pass freely over the borders into the elven lands.
Changes from "Player's Handbook":Dual Heritage: When creating your character, choose wood elf (elf) or high elf (eladrin). You can take feats that have either your chosen race or human as a prerequisite (as well as those specifically for half-elves), as long as you meet any other requirements.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HALF-ORCSAverage Lifespan: 100 years
Half-orcs, while present among the free kingdoms of Elaria, are usually found across the sea in the lands claimed by the Hargorn Empire. More often than not, half-orcs remain in service to the empire, helping their orc brethren expand their territories and defeat their enemies, but there is the occasional half-orc who shuns his peoples’ barbaric ways and wishes to better him or herself. Those that wish this often make the dangerous journey to dwell among the human kingdoms of Elaria.
Changes from "Player's Handbook 2":Half-orcs in Elaria have the following new Racial Trait:
Dual Heritage: You can take feats that have either orc or human as a prerequisite (as well as those specifically for half-orcs), as long as you meet any other requirements.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HALFLINGSAverage Lifespan: 200 years
Halflings are everywhere, though not in as large numbers as humans. A great many of them dwell in Frontia, where things are a bit more peaceful than Westenra, and a bit more civilized than Vilnis. Halflings tend to be a peaceful people, preferring to live a safe, normal life among the human kingdoms, though there are many halflings who wish a life of adventure and action; these halflings find such a life in Westenra, where there is always a chance for a warrior to make a name for themselves.
Changes from "Player's Handbook":None.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
KOBOLDS
Average Lifespan: 50 years
Kobolds are an evil and savage race, created in ancient times by the dark goddess Tiamat in the days after her fall. Created as shock troopers and servants for the dragonborn, their position in draconic culture has changed little over the past several thousand years. While it isn’t impossible for a kobold to turn away from Tiamat’s influence, it is exceedingly rare.
Changes from "Monster Manual":None.
